Laparoscopic Surgery for Gall Bladder
Laparoscopic Gallbladder Surgery is defined as a minimally invasive surgery in which small incisions and specialized tools are used to remove a diseased or inflamed gallbladder. A thin, tube-like instrument with a camera, called a laparoscope, is inserted through one of the incisions. This allows the surgeon to see inside the abdomen on a monitor.
What is Gall Bladder?
The gallbladder is a small, pear-shaped organ located in the upper right abdomen, just behind the liver. It stores bile, a liquid generated by the liver. The gallbladder secretes bile into the small intestine to aid in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fats.
