Perineal Abscess

A perineal abscess is a localized collection of pus in the tissue surrounding the anus or perineum, often caused by bacterial infection. It typically presents as a painful, swollen lump and may be accompanied by fever and drainage of pus. If left untreated, it can lead to a fistula. Treatment involves drainage of the abscess, often through a minor surgical procedure, and antibiotics to clear the infection.
